We are proud to introduce you to the Highton Preschool situated within the beautiful new Highton Child and Family Hub. Our innovative and exciting learning journeys are influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education. We encourage your child to discover themselves by exploring their interests and the world through nature, collaborative projects and relationships.
We recognise the importance of the family unit and strive to support families in their parenting role. We encourage families to take an active part in their child’s education by involving them in “Stay and Play” days and celebrating the richness in cultures through music, cooking and life experiences.
The amazing outdoor learning environment provides the children with unique learning opportunities. It supports all areas of development through play based open ended experiences. Educators are always close by to scaffold learning and ensure your child is safe and supervised.
Our bush kinder program, currently run at Narana Aboriginal Cultural centre during term 2 & 3, allows the children to use their imagination and initiative to create their own games and develop a growing appreciation for the natural environment. It also immerses the children in the culture of our First Nations people which is embedded in the children’s learning journeys at Highton Preschool.
At Highton Preschool we believe that young children are not seen as empty vessels to be filled but competent, capable, strong and amazing individuals.
