Grant Boyd is the CEO of the Bethany Group comprising Bethany Community Support Inc. and Bethany Kindergarten Services Ltd.

Prior to joining Bethany, Grant worked extensively in the not-for-profit, government and private sectors in the fields of education, community services, disability and health where he has held practitioner, leadership and consulting roles. Grant is also currently the President of the Early Learning Association of Australia.


Lachlan McColl – Chairperson

Lachie is a finance professional specialising in the valuation of businesses, legal entities and intangible assets.  He is a Chartered Accountant with more than 15 years’ professional experience.  Lachie has been a Board Member of GKA since 2012 and is now the Chair of the Bethany Kindergarten Services Board.


Jon Mamonski – Deputy Chairperson

Jon has significant experience in communications, community relations and marketing.  As an accredited technology journalist, Jon writes regularly for Provincial Media and appears weekly on local radio.


Tara Paatsch
BA, LLB

Appointed to BKS Board in May 2017

Tara is a lawyer with over 10 years of experience in professional practice. Tara has extensive experience in family law and litigation. Tara was a Board Member of Geelong Kindergarten Association prior to joining both the Bethany Community Support Board and the Bethany Kindergarten Services Board. Tara currently works as a Senior Associate in Family Law with a local law firm. Tara also has three young children.


Lynne Kidman

Lynne is a retired post-primary school teacher. She held the position of Barwon South Western Region Disability and Special Needs Coordinator and Autism Consultant from 2001 to 2009.  Lynne has extensive experience in developing disability programs and curriculum for schools and delivered disability training to teachers, specialists and parents.  She enjoys being involved in community projects such as development of The Eastern Hub Community Centre, East Geelong.  She spent 21 years serving on the Board of Directors for Corio Bay Innovators (dal cafe).


Karen Lane
PhD; BA Hons

Appointed to BKS Board in September 2019 Karen is an Honorary Research Fellow at Deakin University.  Her research areas include: Mothering, Migration and Social Inclusion; Sociology and Politics of Maternity Care; Theories of Knowledge and Power; and Public Policy Analysis.


Anthea Whan
M. Inter. & Comm Dev, Dip AICD, BCom

Appointed to BKS Board in February 2020 Anthea has 7 years’ experience working and living in remote Aboriginal communities in the NT and WA, and 1 year working in the Pacific in Community Development.  She is skilled in program management and design in early childhood, youth and family support programs and have worked across private and community sectors, and is currently working for Save the Children.


Guy Le Page

Guy is the CEO and founder of a start-up business, built up over the past 3 years from working solo to employing nearly 100 people. Guy did this with an ethos of creating win-wins for all stakeholders, with an efficiency-focussed and agile business model.


Janet Cook
(BKS Parent Advisory Group Representative)

Appointed to BKS Board in September 2019 Janet has experience as a BKS Kinder parent and PAG President.  She previously worked in the Government sector (TAC) for 4 years in a number of roles, her last role being a Project Coordinator, in the Disability, Support and Partnerships Team. This role was to develop new services for our clients in Attendant Care, and to work with our providers and internal teams to implement these services.
